Celebrant & Registered Solemniser in Athlone & the Midlands
I’m Mairéad, a celebrant and registered solemniser based in Athlone, in the heart of Ireland. I create relaxed, personal ceremonies for weddings, vow renewals, naming ceremonies and other important moments in life. I can legally marry couples seven days a week and travel throughout the Midlands and across Ireland
A vow renewal is a lovely way to celebrate the life you have built together and the memories you have made along the way. I create relaxed, personal ceremonies that reflect your story, your family, and the reasons you want to say those words to each other all over again.
Your vow renewal can be simple and intimate or include family, friends, music, readings, and meaningful ceremony elements. We can look back on the journey you have shared, celebrate the people and moments that have shaped your life together, and create a ceremony that feels completely personal to you.
Couples renew their vows for all sorts of reasons. You might be celebrating a special anniversary, marking a new chapter, bringing family together, or simply wanting to pause and celebrate everything you have built together.
A vow renewal can be a lovely way to include children or grandchildren in the celebration. They can take part through readings, music, a unity ceremony, or another meaningful role that reflects your family.
Personalised to You: Your ceremony will reflect your story, your relationship, the memories you have made, and the reasons you have chosen to renew your vows.
Include Family & Friends: Your children, grandchildren, or other important people can be part of the ceremony through readings, music, or another special role.
Meaningful Ceremony Elements: You can include handfasting, unity candles, ring warming, personal readings, or other traditions that mean something to you.
Your vow renewal can take place somewhere that holds special meaning for you, whether that is your original wedding venue, your own garden, a beautiful hotel, beside a lake, or somewhere completely new. There are no legal formalities involved, so you have lots of freedom to create a setting and ceremony that feels right for you.

Not at all. You can write new vows, repeat simple vows after me, use a mixture of both, or include some of the promises from your original wedding ceremony. I’ll help you choose what feels most comfortable and meaningful.
